Story Summary: Alison tells us a story about her growing up unaware of the struggles that people in other countries face. She grew up her entire life on the East Coast of the United States and had never left until she received an opportunity to travel to Mexico. She tells us about how she almost convinced herself to not go on the trip due to the fears she and her family had placed in mind. At the end of the day, she was able to realize that what she read online was nothing like the country she went to go see. Alice realized there was no fear and fell in love with the country.
